I'm in love. They'd better do the Dryad Bow justice ingame, I desperately want it.
Seriously, guys, don't mess it up. It has so much potential.

Mine:
I can't say I was surprised by the results. Once again, the winners are "animal weapons," "glow weapons" and "tiny detail weapons." And of course, "copy of existing weapon-weapons." How many branch-themed bows do we need?
I was hoping for:
*A dagger that's designed in such a way that I don't have to squint to appreciate it.
*A bow that isn't wood-themed that actually is visually-interesting. Yes, they're Rangers. But come on. Just one?
*A large axe that is also visually-interesting that doesn't involve an animal. Something along the lines of the Sephis Axe, but better. No more toy axes on par with the Totem Axe in size.
*A scythe that actually looks like something the Grim Reaper might use. No, Dervishes aren't Necromancers. But they're scythes. What do you expect?
*A one-handed wand that isn't lame. Seriously, almost anything will do. These sticks with glowing parts on the tips are just pathetic. I don't care if it's large enough to be a staff. I'll let it go.
Generally, designs I can appreciate from a distance that aren't... lame. There are way too many designs in the game that are just too small to be noticed, or that are just fruity or boring. If I see another dragon-themed item I think I'll puke. With all respect.

I sort of managed the contest, so I did not vote.
Had I voted, I would have chosen that, hands down, I admit. (I can tell you that the frog (or should I say "The Frog?") wand was a major vote getter from the team. I think that a lot of members of the team are a tad fond of our amphibian buddy.)

Glad you liked the frog wand, Gaile. Yeah, it was mine...just a nod to those who dig The Frog. It might not have been my best drawing submitted (imo), but it was my favorite concept. There seems to be a bit more negative feedback here than in a couple of the other forums regarding the quality of the artwork in general...Maybe people forget that the contest was set up so that people of varying artistic ability could submit their ideas. I'm pretty excited about seeing how they all turn out.
Some really good ideas were submitted this time around (gotta love the Melandru's bow). When I get back to work on Monday, I'll post my other submissions for kicks and giggles...I'm interested in seeing what everyone else submitted. I hope others who won, or got honorable mention or were finalist or even bothered to enter keep posting their entries in spite of those who posess magical toilet paper...

I have a box that is at least 2 feet deep, probably more.
And I've already had a reason to go through everything twice after the judging, so I guess anything is possible.

Very nice entries, but I'm kind of getting tired of the adding an animal/face/object to a weapon to make it worthy of getting into the game. Oh well, they all were creative and deserved to win. I didn't make it into the finals, but maybe for the next contest they have I will (maybe something for GW2 ) My entry nonetheless for those that might be interested:

I was really impressed on this contest... in both ways.
I don't have much to say about the winners, only I felt that that dagger (green blade, gold handle) looked a bit like my garden tool. Still, it's of a remarkable quality, especially the detail on the blade.
Even though I'm an ele, I just fell in love with the lady-bow. My ranger MUST have one of those.
The eagle-axe is very well drawn, and deserves the win imo.
On the Honorable mentions, however, I found a couple of entries which either I found perplexing (the entry by Apache Queen Raven) or I was like... they chose THIS?? (the very last one by Nymph of Meliai, UK). Now, I don't mean to say that they should have chosen mine (not that I'd complain, mind you ), but surely the same poster had something of higher detail or less of a scribble? Not to mention that the last three entries were ALL Rose-themed (loads of thorns in GW:EN perhaps?).
All this aside, here are my entries. Some have been scanned as I sent the original off to Anet, whilst others are totally PC-generated (Photoshop ftw!):
I admit the Crystalline Axe being a bit unoriginal, but it's still my fav
The hammer is a Diamond Hammer, inspired by vabbian culture.
The wand is an earth wand, inspired by nothing in particular
